- Own client relationships and deliver technical ESG advisory work across institutional real estate clients
- Act as day-to-day contact for institutional investor, fund manager and asset manager clients
- Present findings and recommendations, translating technical detail into commercial decisions
- Coordinate with managing agents, property managers, occupiers and third‑party assessors to secure data and evidence
- Manage client expectations on scope, timescales and achievable outcomes
- Deliver annual GRESB Real Estate Assessment submissions for fund- and entity-level clients
- Run GRESB gap analyses and develop multi-year improvement roadmaps
- Own energy, water, waste and GHG data collection and reporting workstreams
- Design and operate QA processes ensuring reported figures are traceable and withstand validation and assurance scrutiny
- Interpret GRESB results against peer and benchmark reports and prepare post-results narratives
- Advise on BREEAM In-Use strategy, scope, target rating and sequencing
- Manage BREEAM evidence gathering, registers, responsible‑party mapping and gap tracking
- Liaise with licensed BREEAM In‑Use Assessors through certification and support audits and quality assurance
- Undertake site surveys and building reviews
- Advise on capital and operational interventions and work with cost management colleagues to price them
- Contribute to bids, proposals and fee submissions, including scoping and pricing work
- Develop tools, templates and methodologies to improve delivery efficiency and consistency
Requirements
- Approximately 4 years' experience in a client‑facing consultancy role, ideally within real estate, sustainability, or the built environment
- Demonstrable experience working directly with institutional investors, fund managers or asset managers
- Strong, hands‑on GRESB experience, having contributed materially to multiple submissions
- Understanding of GRESB scoring architecture, data coverage, landlord/tenant boundary, like‑for‑like reporting and validation
- Strong BREEAM In‑Use experience, including practical knowledge of the current scheme version, evidence requirements and certification process
- Experience managing own workstreams and deadlines with limited supervision
- Excellent client management skills
- Strong data handling ability, including advanced Excel and large, imperfect utility datasets
- Clear, concise written communication for reports, memos and board‑level summaries
- Absolute integrity around evidence and data
- A degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Licensed BREEAM In‑Use Assessor status is desirable, not required
- Experience with Fitwel, SKA, BREEAM New Construction / Refurbishment & Fit‑Out is desirable
- Net zero carbon and decarbonisation experience is desirable
- Embodied and whole‑life carbon assessment experience is desirableli>
- Climate risk and TCFD/ISSB‑aligned risk assessment experience is desirable
- Regulatory and disclosure knowledge including SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD and UK SRS is desirable
- ESG transaction due diligence experience is desirable
- Familiarity with ESG data platforms and ESG components of INREV DDQs is desirable
- IEMA or RICS membership or progression is desirable
- European market exposure or a second European language is desirable
