- Work as part of the shift team maintaining and preparing port and cruise-related assets
- Carry out routine inspections and maintenance of operational and cruise assets
- Support berth preparation, including positioning passenger boarding bridges, gangways, and associated equipment
- Conduct pre-use checks and ensure assets are safe and ready for operation
- Provide reactive maintenance and fault response across the port
- Assist with vessel arrival and departure operations
- Support wider maintenance and operational teams as required
- Contribute to the safe and efficient running of Southampton Port
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience in maintenance, engineering, facilities, plant, industrial, or operational environments
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in a busy operational setting
- Valid UK driving licence
- Ability to work at height
- Ability to work a 21-day rotating shift pattern, including weekends
- Electrical qualifications such as 17th or 18th Edition are beneficial but not essential
- Successful candidates must complete pre-employment BPSS screening
- Successful candidates must undergo a medical before starting
- Subject to random substance-abuse screening and a zero-tolerance policy
