- Build and lead a capability for automated, continual, and evidence-based governance across FinOps, security, and architecture compliance
- Design and run automated compliance analytics across FinOps, Security, and Architecture
- Convert policies and regulatory requirements into codified checks with clear pass/fail outcomes
- Deliver audit-ready evidence with trend reporting and insights
- Monitor cost governance, security posture, and architectural standards through automated measurement
- Lead and develop a lean service automation team of 2β3 engineers
- Set technical direction, standards, and delivery cadence
- Operate the team as a product function with a backlog, SLAs, and stakeholder engagement
- Champion an automation-first DevOps culture with guardrails over manual approvals
- Build automation to reduce manual compliance, reporting, and remediation effort
- Develop APIs, services, and data pipelines integrating cloud, security, identity, and finance systems
- Enable self-service analytics and reporting for internal teams
- Embed secure, zero-trust patterns across automation and workflows
- Own executive dashboards, scorecards, and reporting outputs
- Translate technical data into business and regulatory insights
- Partner with Finance, Risk, Audit, and Engineering on governance and reporting
- Define and evolve automation and compliance strategy
- Establish policy-as-code and governance patterns
- Recommend tools and platforms to improve cost, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Enable safe self-service through guardrails and standards
Requirements
- Strong FinOps expertise, including cost control, tagging, unit economics, and optimisation
- Experience automating compliance and governance into measurable analytics
- Proven delivery of cloud cost savings and optimisation outcomes
- Experience leading technical teams in DevOps, SRE, FinOps, or platform engineering
- Track record of mentoring and growing engineers
- Experience operating a product-focused function with stakeholders
- Hands-on engineering background in automation, tooling, or systems integration
- Experience building data pipelines or reporting solutions
- Experience working in regulated industries
- Strong understanding of audit, controls, and evidence requirements
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, and Engineering
- Knowledge of Azure governance tools: Azure Policy, Resource Graph, and Cost Management
- Knowledge of identity and access management: AAD, RBAC, and PIM
- Familiarity with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, APIs, and messaging
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or C#
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or Bicep
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Experience building dashboards and self-service analytics solutions
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT, APIs, and event-driven data pipeline patterns
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Knowledge of cloud cost allocation and optimisation strategies
- Knowledge of policy-as-code and compliance-as-code approaches
- Knowledge of audit evidence generation and regulatory reporting
