- Support preparation of Group and entity-level statutory financial statements
- Produce accurate reporting and supporting schedules in line with agreed deadlines
- Coordinate information and respond to external auditor queries
- Ensure reporting complies with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Prepare technical accounting papers and contribute to resolving complex accounting matters
- Maintain clear documentation, reconciliations and audit trails
- Work with Finance teams across the Group to gather, review and challenge reporting information
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiency
- Support wider Finance projects and reporting requirements
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and external reporting experience, ideally gained within insurance, financial services or another complex, regulated environment
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification
- Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements
- Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards and external reporting requirements
- Experience working closely with external auditors
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across different teams
- Proactive and collaborative approach, with confidence to challenge where needed
- Interest in improving processes and strengthening financial controls
