- Lead, drive and directly manage a number of Legal teams within Lancashire County Council
- Act as key partner and stakeholder for Adults, Education and People Services
- Lead development and implementation and provide senior direction for service governance strategy
- Inform and guide service governance strategy
- Ensure the organisation operates correctly and remains compliant with legal and regulatory requirements
- Work with senior and statutory officers, elected members and political partners
- Lead on delivering effective governance
Requirements
- Ideally have an honours degree in a relevant discipline
- Admitted Solicitor or Barrister status (England and Wales) with a current practising certificate
- Excellent understanding of and experience of operating within the legal frameworks and requirements of Local Authority governance
- Previous direct experience and knowledge of one of the legal disciplines managed by the role: Adult Social Care, Education, Employment or Schools Appeal
- Previous experience of managing a multi-disciplined team
- Demonstrative experience of being the driver of a high quality service provision
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
