Responsibilities

  • Gather and monitor dynamic operational constraints such as demand, asset availability, water quality and abstraction limits.
  • Support the development and delivery of accurate, actionable production plans across multiple timescales.
  • Act as a super-user of production planning tools, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor KPIs and system performance, identifying potential deviations and risks.
  • Investigate issues, support root cause analysis and help implement mitigations.
  • Work closely with operational teams to communicate plans and respond to changing conditions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning tools, processes and data quality.
  • Support maintenance and capital delivery by contributing to operational impact planning.
  • Build strong relationships across Water Services, Asset Health, Water Resources and wider stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience in an operational or engineering role, ideally within the water industry.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment and distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic principles.
  • Confident using complex software, data tools or models (e.g. hydraulic or planning tools).
  • Experience working with operational stakeholders and influencing decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in engineering, science or data-related fields (desirable).
