  • Provide innovative, value-for-money civil engineering designs
  • Apply engineering principles and act as a proactive problem solver
  • Assist in reviewing and preparing scopes of work, methodologies, programmes and resource estimates for the design stage
  • Provide design support during construction
  • Deliver design and associated activities within the assigned section of the SPA programme
  • Coordinate design interactions across Solutions, Production and Delivery
  • Work with team members to meet project requirements
  • Assist with managing design estimates, targets and forecasts
  • Interface with GI, Utilities and Environmental teams
  • Liaise with Temporary Works design teams
  • Enable accurate and timely information flow, including responses to Technical Queries
  • Work with Supply Chain Designers, Offshore Designers, SPA Planners and Delivery Teams
  • Embrace digital transformation throughout design
  • Support Solutions, Engineering and Production teams with ideas to improve efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement in health and safety standards

Requirements

  • A Civil Engineering degree, or equivalent
  • Working towards professional status with a relevant institution such as ICE or IStructE
  • Civil design experience in the water industry
  • Experience working on projects in a Design & Build environment
  • Additional technically focused qualifications/training are desirable
  • Safety passport or similar is desirable
  • Ability to comply with business ethics and demonstrate integrity
  • Collaboration and communication with project teams
  • Effective personal and social skills
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to identify learning and development needs
  • Ability to make timely decisions considering health and safety and commercial risk
  • Ability to achieve efficiency in engineering outputs
