You'll visit people in their homes to carry out vital research interviews on important topics like health, housing and transport.
Using a tablet or laptop, you'll guide conversations that capture real experiences of daily life in Britain.
This is not a desk job.
You'll be out in your community, knocking on doors.
People receive a letter beforehand, but they're not always expecting you.
Some won't answer.
Others will say no.
That's completely normal and part of the role.
But when someone says yes and shares their story, you'll know you've helped create change that improves people's lives.
Responsibilities
- Visit people in their homes to conduct research interviews on health, housing, transport and related topics.
- Use a tablet or laptop to guide conversations that capture real experiences of daily life.
- Work outside a desk environment, engaging with communities and knocking on doors.
- Provide information ahead of visits and manage expectations with participants.
- Respect participants' decisions; some people will not respond or will say no, which is normal.
- Record and relay insights that contribute to positive change in people’s lives.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car
- Class 1 Business insurance
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to complete a DBS check
- Reliable home broadband
- Laptop or tablet with camera
- Comfortable using basic technology
- At least 18 hours available per week
- Flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Strong verbal and written English
- Personal qualities: Good at talking to people; friendly and professional; resilient and confident; self-motivated and independent; good time management and prioritising skills
