Build observability architecture spanning instrumentation, telemetry pipelines, storage, alerting, and automated response. Drive the vision and delivery of LSEG's observability architecture. Champion migration strategies from legacy monitoring to modern observability platforms. Drive AIOps integration for event correlation, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis. Define SLIs, SLOs, and telemetry data strategies balancing signal quality, coverage, and cost. Author observability standards, facilitate maturity assessments, and report on adoption across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Build observability architecture spanning instrumentation, telemetry pipelines, storage, alerting, and automated response
- Drive the vision and delivery of LSEG's observability architecture
- Champion migration strategies from legacy monitoring to modern observability platforms
- Drive AIOps integration for event correlation, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and telemetry data strategies balancing signal quality, coverage, and cost
- Author observability standards, facilitate maturity assessments, and report on adoption across the organization
Requirements
- Extensive experience in observability, monitoring, or site reliability engineering
- Deep understanding of metrics, logs, and traces across distributed systems
- Hands-on experience operating observability platforms
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and telemetry pipeline tools (e.g., Cribl, Vector)
- Experience in Kubernetes and multi-cloud environments
- Track record of delivering observability platforms across multiple teams or business units
- Ability to present technical strategies to engineering teams and senior leadership
Nice to have:
- Experience with BigPanda, ServiceNow, or similar AIOps and ITSM integrations
- Background in financial services or a regulated industry
- Familiarity with observability-as-code using GitOps or infrastructure-as-code workflows
