- Ensure plant and machinery across the site are available and reliable
- Proactively reduce plant downtime through due diligence
- Carry out process setup of equipment and assist with SMED activities
- Perform planned maintenance and reactive maintenance when required
- Coordinate with production supervision to ensure smooth running and availability of plant and equipment
- Support and engage in continuous improvement projects and sustain best operational practices
- Coordinate health and safety audits and assist with SOP reviews
- Help reduce functional accident statistics
- Carry out assigned project work to schedule
- Participate in quality and accident/incident investigations
- Work within company health, safety, quality, HR and environmental policies
Requirements
- Educated to City & Guilds level or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Ability to set up and adjust machines, processes and equipment using SMED
- Knowledge and implementation of mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Good understanding of PLCs and ability to fault find, with basic programming knowledge
- Welding capabilities
- Experience working within preventative maintenance schedules
- Experience working effectively within small teams in a manufacturing environment
- Experience performing general checks on machines
- Proven practical experience with continuous improvement tools
- Good understanding and practical application of HSE and Quality policies
- Ability to work within company policies and procedures
- Ability to comply with ISO 14001, HSE, waste, COSHH and other applicable legislation
- Flexibility to work at other Bridon sites when required
