- Design and develop HTS magnets and magnetic coils
- Translate performance requirements into practical engineering solutions
- Support prototype development, testing and experimental campaigns
- Analyse test data and contribute to design improvements
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Develop software tools and analysis methods using MATLAB, Python or similar
- Contribute to technical reports and intellectual property generation
Requirements
- Degree, MSc or PhD in Physics, Engineering or related discipline, and post study industry experience
- Experience with complex technical systems
- Understanding of electromagnetics, superconductivity, cryogenics or related disciplines
- Experience with modelling, simulation or technical analysis
- Programming experience using MATLAB, Python or similar
- Ability to take ownership and work collaboratively
- Experience with superconducting magnets or magnetic systems is desirable
- Experience with COMSOL, ANSYS or OPERA is desirable
- Experimental testing experience is desirable
- Manufacturing or prototype development exposure is desirable
- Successful appointment subject to standard pre-employment screening, including right-to-work, proof of identity and references
