  • Conduct Employment Tribunal proceedings for insured or private clients

  • Review papers and draft claims, responses, and EAT applications/responses

  • Comply with case management instructions

  • Brief Counsel and attend hearings where appropriate

  • Prepare witness statements

  • Keep stakeholders updated on prospects

  • Advise insurers, insured, and private clients on employment law issues and disputes

  • Handle ACAS early conciliation, settlements, and agreements

  • Provide opinions on prospects

  • Advise on day-to-day HR issues and assist with grievance and disciplinary procedures

  • Review, advise on, and draft settlement agreements, employment contracts, handbooks, and policies

  • Advise on collective consultation and TUPE projects

  • Assist with employment law updates, mail shots, and client training

  • Draft employment law materials and assist with presenting employment law courses

  • Support other departments with disciplinary or grievance hearings and investigations

  • Maintain accurate records and time records

  • Invoice clients as necessary


Requirements



  • Experience in undertaking both contentious and non-contentious work

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Experience of communicating effectively in a professional environment with a range of people

  • Good IT skills across Microsoft, Word, Outlook etc

  • Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail/accuracy

  • Excellent customer care skills

  • Commercial awareness

  • Analytical and problem-solving approach to advice

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and uphold company standards

  • Good document drafting skills and an eye for detail

  • Ability to gain and retain client confidence

  • Sound working knowledge of appropriate electronic research facilities
