  • Report to the Head of Risk
  • Lead risk management activities across a portfolio of complex programmes and projects
  • Manage and develop Risk Managers, Senior Risk Analysts and Risk Champions within a matrix environment
  • Promote consistent application and continuous improvement of the company's risk management framework and processes
  • Act as the subject matter expert for risk management, providing assurance, guidance and challenge
  • Support and deputise for the Head of Risk when required
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Risk colleagues to escape and manage principal risks
  • Oversee the administration and effectiveness of the Risk Management Information System (RMIS)
  • Deliver portfolio and programme risk reporting to senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams
  • Lead Quantitative Risk Analysis activities across cost and schedule risk disciplines
  • Support enhanced risk analytics, data-driven insights and AI-enabled risk management capabilities

Requirements

  • Extensive experience applying recognised risk management frameworks and best practice, such as ISO 31000 and major programme governance methodologies
  • Proven experience leading risk management activities on large-scale infrastructure, engineering, nuclear, construction or similarly complex programmes
  • Strong expertise in Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), including cost and schedule risk assessment
  • Experience working across project controls disciplines, including risk, planning, change and performance management
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive, programme and delivery team levels
  • Experience leading teams and fostering collaboration within matrix organisations
  • Ability to translate complex risk information into clear, actionable insight for decision-makers
  • Experience within the nuclear sector or other major regulated infrastructure programmes is advantageous
  • Professional Risk Management qualification such as IRM Certificate/Diploma or equivalent is advantageous
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, including IRM, ALARM or APM, is advantageous
  • Experience using quantitative risk tools such as Safran Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk or ModelRisk is advantageous
  • Experience applying data analytics and emerging AI technologies to support risk management and programme performance is advantageous
  • Degree qualified or equivalent relevant experience
  • Formal Risk Management qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working within major engineering, infrastructure or nuclear programmes
  • Applicants must obtain BPSS clearance
  • Applicants must satisfactorily complete a DBS check
  • Applicants must satisfactorily complete a basic financial probity check

Demonstrates extensive expertise in risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000, with a strong focus on Quantitative Risk Analysis and the ability to lead teams in complex infrastructure and engineering projects. Proficient in translating complex risk data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
