Responsibilities
- Support a portfolio of SME, mid-market and enterprise clients, advising on a wide range of employment law and health and safety matters.
- Drafting and advising on employment contracts, settlement agreements, staff handbooks, and health and safety policies.
- Assisting with contentious employment matters such as pre‑tribunal advice and Employment Tribunal claims.
- Managing redundancy and TUPE processes for clients.
- Providing oral and written advice to clients on a broad range of legal matters.
- Conducting legal research.
- Participating in role plays to improve client service skills or having team lunches.
Requirements
- You are a recently qualified solicitor in England and Wales with at least 6 months of demonstrated experience in employment law assisting employers.
- Experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including employment contracts, policies, and handbooks, employee relations, disciplinary and grievance processes, terminations, restructures, and redundancies.
- Confident assisting employers across a diverse client base, from SMEs to larger corporates.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high technical and client service standards.
- Comfortable with direct client engagement, including delivering clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice, building long‑term, trusted client relationships, and translating complex employment law issues into practical solutions for clients.
- Commercially minded, proactive, and aligned with a modern, client‑centric legal services model.
