- Lead legal support for Equinixβs real estate and infrastructure activities across all EMEA markets
- Provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice across the full lifecycle of data centre development and infrastructure projects
- Lead a regional team of lawyers
- Support land acquisition, construction, energisation, expansion, operation and related strategic initiatives
- Provide legal advice on real estate acquisitions, disposals, leases, site development, construction projects, energy matters, portfolio management and infrastructure matters
- Advise senior business leaders on complex and high-value matters
- Manage legal risk across the EMEA real estate and infrastructure portfolio
- Represent Legal on the regional investment committee
- Manage external counsel and maintain regional counsel relationships
- Partner with global Legal colleagues on knowledge sharing, templates, playbooks and process improvements
- Help the business move quickly while maintaining legal, compliance and governance standards
- Collaborate with Real Estate, Corporate Development, Energy, Global Design and Construction, regional and country leadership, Operations, Finance, Tax, Treasury and Legal stakeholders
- Foster an inclusive and motivating team environment
- Set team priorities and align legal support with business needs
- Develop legal talent, coach team members and ensure escalation of material risks
- Enable consistent team operations across EMEA while responding to local market needs
Requirements
- Strong legal experience in real estate, construction, infrastructure development, and/or energy from a middle or top tier law firm and/or a large multi-national organisation in a dynamic business environment
- Experience advising on large, complex, cross-functional transactions or projects
- Experience leading a team and proven strong people management skills
- Collaborative working style and ability to build credibility with Legal and business teams
- Pragmatic and commercial approach to translating complex legal issues into clear, practical business advice
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence advising senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks and workload
