Respond to major planning proposals and assess transport and highway implications
Work with developers, local planning authorities, consultants and colleagues
Secure infrastructure improvements that mitigate development impacts
Enhance accessibility and support Suffolk’s transport ambitions
Contribute to town-wide transport plans
Identify innovative solutions to local transport challenges
Lead and develop a team of Transport Planning Engineers and Technicians
Negotiate positive outcomes and provide expert advice on complex transport matters
Provide comments to local planning authorities on the highway suitability of new developments
Support delivery of transport infrastructure, active travel initiatives and secured funding
Requirements
- Passion for promoting high standards of sustainable transport in new developments
- High-level understanding of highway design and construction and relevant sections of the Highway Act
- Significant experience interpreting complex transport assessments and responding to developers and consultants
- Capability to represent the team at meetings with internal and external organisations and provide expert advice, sometimes in challenging circumstances
- Supporting statement and CV required for application
- Supporting documents must be submitted in PDF or MS Word format
- Relevant posts may require DBS checks or police vetting
