The predicted salary is between 45585 - 55715 £ per year.

  • Support cost-effective delivery and construction of sustainable transport schemes and programmes across Suffolk
  • Manage a portfolio of major works schemes typically valued above £1 million or minor works schemes typically valued below £1 million
  • Deliver Active Travel schemes, Section 106-funded schemes and other highway improvement projects
  • Ensure fully integrated scheme delivery throughout design and construction
  • Maintain independent supervision on behalf of Suffolk County Council
  • Ensure highway works are constructed in accordance with designs and standards
  • Keep stakeholders informed throughout delivery
  • Work with stakeholders through investigation, feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design and implementation phases
  • Carry out investigations and design for highway improvement and maintenance schemes
  • Engage with external works commissioners through ECI activities
  • Conduct community engagement and consultation activities
  • Promote appropriate culture and behaviours in a customer-focused team
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders

Requirements

  • Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or significant relevant experience in the design of highway maintenance and improvement schemes
  • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
  • Appropriate and valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card
  • Preferably hold NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications for managing health and safety
  • Experience successfully managing a range of complex projects in highways engineering, highways design or similar technical disciplines
  • Technical knowledge of highways design and maintenance techniques, including appropriate application of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
  • Good understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and codes of practice, including the CDM Regulations 2015
  • Ability to deliver a supporting statement and an anonymised CV
  • Ability to deliver a 15-minute interview presentation
  • DBS checks or police vetting may be required for relevant posts
