- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Underwriting Performance Monitoring Suite of MI reports
- Create new Underwriting reports and enhance existing reporting functionality
- Produce and publish BAU reports according to an agreed refresh schedule
- Produce ad-hoc performance monitoring analysis to address business challenges and identify issues or opportunities
- Create and maintain reporting and underlying data models using Power BI, Databricks, SAS, and SQL
- Capture reporting requirements from business stakeholders across the team and wider business
- Maintain MI best practice, including change control processes, coding standards, and documentation
- Ensure Underwriting Management Information is accurate and supports business decision-making
- Comply with the Group Code of Conduct, Fitness and Propriety policies, company policies, values, guidelines, standards, and regulations
- Proactively research and learn about new tools, techniques, and data sources under the guidance of the Underwriting MI Manager
Requirements
- Minimum 2:1 degree in a numerical undergraduate discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong numerical, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Experience in data modelling, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with analytical programming languages and packages such as Databricks, SAS, and SQL
- Understanding of data analysis principles
- Knowledge of personal lines general insurance preferred
- Strong commercial acumen
- Knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M) desirable
- Good time management and organisation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, organised, proactive, flexible, and positive approach
