- Own month-end close across the group, holding the timetable and driving the team to hit it
- Support Treasury with daily cash control and manage FX, tax and cash efficiency
- Own ERP reconciliations and monthly balance-back to Group sales reports
- Lead, manage and develop the management accounting team
- Deliver monthly management reporting against budget across UK entities and subsidiaries
- Own technical accounting, policies and consistency of treatment
- Drive finance systems and process improvement, including consolidation and routine reporting automation and AI use
- Support Board reporting and governance
- Own statutory filings and company secretarial matters
- Manage corporation tax estimates, QIP payments, R&D claims coordination and insurance renewals with advisers
- Support external audit, covenant compliance monitoring, fixed asset register, UK payroll oversight and HR interface
- Own process documentation and controls manual
- Manage the accountancy firm relationship within a fee budget and bring routine technical work in-house over time
- Report to the Financial Director and sit on the Senior Management Team
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- 5 years’ post-qualification experience
- Previously held a Financial Controller role
- Solid financial control experience
- Proven ownership of month-end close and management reporting, ideally in a multi-entity group
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience managing and developing a finance team
- Genuine interest in finance systems and process improvement
- Calm, methodical approach and confidence to own the controls environment
- Flexibility to work from other locations and undertake related commercial duties in the UK and overseas
