  • Manage all IT services for the Motability Foundation and deliver its digital, data and technology strategy
  • Oversee and direct development of IT applications, infrastructure, networks, security and telecoms
  • Ensure a robust IT business continuity plan and compliance with statutory, regulatory, hardware and software licensing requirements
  • Oversee procurement of IT hardware, software and maintenance
  • Manage hardware and software updates and continuously test system and data security
  • Build and deploy the IT roadmap aligned with the organisation’s digital, data and technology strategy
  • Support executives in reviewing long-term IT investment strategy and advise on emerging opportunities and threats
  • Maintain the structured project development methodology and ensure successful delivery of approved IT projects on time, within scope and budget
  • Design and implement a fit-for-purpose, cost-effective IT organisational structure
  • Partner with the business, senior management, Scheme Partners and suppliers to deliver IT services against SLAs
  • Gather business feedback and implement service improvements
  • Manage, develop and motivate an internal IT team of 14 plus contract support
  • Monitor performance against service-level targets and resolve problems rapidly
  • Recruit, train and develop employees while maintaining a safe and secure work environment
  • Delegate responsibility, empower employees and ensure accountability
  • Manage an IT budget of approximately £2 million
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for the Executive Team
  • Analyse problems, research solutions, present recommendations and approve IT purchase orders

Requirements

  • Significant IT experience including strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (M365) and Networking (LAN/WAN Cisco technologies)
  • Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development and managing significant capital projects and budgets
  • Good knowledge of different software systems, client/service architectures and compatibility requirements
  • Experience managing suppliers and supplier relationships
  • Ability to communicate and influence clearly and persuasively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Ability to maintain a broad and long-term perspective of IT developments to influence forward planning
  • Ability to take ownership of and analyse problems, implementing practical solutions
  • Ability to maintain organisational effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
  • Experience working within a not for profit environment
  • Demonstrable experience leading IT-related change management initiatives
  • Ability to remain resilient and focused on the future state
  • IT degree level (IT) or equivalent (nice to have)
  • MCSE/MCP certification (nice to have)
  • ITIL Foundation (nice to have)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (nice to have)
  • Experience of BCP/DR planning, implementation and testing (nice to have)
  • Experience of Cloud Computing/SaaS (nice to have)
  • GDPR awareness (nice to have)
