  • Maintain and support company information systems

  • Provide 1st and 2nd Line Support, escalating issues where appropriate

  • Work with IT suppliers and third-party partners

  • Attend IT meetings and provide status updates

  • Monitor systems for performance, availability, and security

  • Maintain firewall and gateway security policies

  • Assist with security alerts and incident response alongside the System Security Officer

  • Support the development, testing, and rollout of new systems and services

  • Develop skills across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, cybersecurity, and virtualised infrastructure

  • Progress toward a fully-fledged Systems Administrator role


Requirements



  • A background in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline

  • Experience working in a Microsoft-based environment (commercial or academic)

  • Exposure to IT support, system administration, or infrastructure support

  • Proactive, self-motivated approach and willingness to learn

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively

  • Ability to adapt and keep pace with a fast-moving IT environment

  • Proficiency in Active Directory

  • Knowledge of virtualised infrastructure

  • Knowledge of secure information systems and IT security policies

  • Knowledge of networking principles, including DNS, DHCP, Layer 3 firewalls, and routing

  • Ability to learn and test new technologies and integrate them with existing systems

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 platform, including Azure

  • Knowledge of MDM and ticket management

  • Must be eligible and willing to obtain UK Government Security Clearance

  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
