Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing Older People’s Social Work teams across Fife
  • Providing professional leadership and line management to Team Managers
  • Driving performance, quality standards and continuous improvement
  • Leading service redesign and development in response to identified needs
  • Managing change in partnership with staff, service users, trade unions and key stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with partners to deliver integrated services
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and governance requirements
  • Managing resources, including staffing and budgets, to deliver efficient services
  • Representing the Council and Partnership at internal and external forums

Requirements

  • Managerial experience within a Social Work setting.
  • Experience of service and resource management.
  • A relevant Social Work qualification.
  • Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage complex and competing demands.
  • Experience of leading and managing professional teams.
  • Evidence of supporting staff development.
  • Strong partnership working experience.
  • Experience of leading change and service development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Financial and budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and statutory requirements.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Strong IT skills.
