Responsibilities
- You’ll lead a team of Data Engineers while remaining close to the technical detail, helping shape the way our warehouse and wider data platform evolves.
- A large part of the role will focus on designing and developing robust data models and pipelines within our Snowflake environment, ensuring the business has access to reliable, scalable and well-structured data.
- You’ll work across a broad range of complex datasets, partnering with teams across the business to understand challenges, improve solutions and influence technical direction.
- Alongside the hands-on technical leadership, you’ll mentor and support your team, helping create an environment focused on collaboration, engineering best practice and continuous improvement.
- You’ll also play an important role in shaping standards, challenging approaches where appropriate and balancing long-term technical quality with commercial priorities.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience within Data Engineering, including experience operating in a Lead capacity.
- Deep understanding of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong Snowflake experience.
- Experience with ELT tooling such as DBT and/or Fivetran.
- Experience working with Python within data environments.
- Strong understanding of data modelling and architecture principles.
- Experience with AWS Glue, MySQL and MSSQL Server.
- Understanding of testing strategies and engineering best practice.
- Experience working within Agile environments.
