- Work in a team of Strats directly with traders and salespeople as part of the Data and Analytics Strats or Desk-Aligned Strats team
- Develop ideas and productionize tools and analytics alongside senior Strats, trading desks, and sales desks
- Create efficiencies and automate processes for Nomura’s trading business
- Provide new opportunities and business benefits through tools and analytics
- Work in the Front Office with substantial interaction with trading and sales teams
- Liaise with IT and quantitative groups across the firm to ensure requirements are delivered
- Build robust technology solutions for the trading business
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline is required, such as Finance or Computer Science
- Master's degree in a finance/IT-focused discipline is advantageous, such as Financial Engineering or Computational Finance
- Coding experience is required
- Exposure to generative AI coding tools such as Claude Code is required
- Broad programming language experience or strong Python experience is advantageous
- Desire to become a Python/AI domain expert
- Product knowledge is not required, but willingness to learn is required
- Experience in a technology role or a strong academic background in computer science is ideal
- Engineering rigor and experience building robust technology solutions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with trading, sales, IT, and quantitative teams
