Business Analyst in Bourne End

• Act as an advisor to the business and support sound decision-making through data-driven insights and business acumen
• Work directly with business stakeholders to understand challenges and design complex reports using data from one or multiple systems
• Deliver reports in formats that support stakeholders, including executive staff and audiences outside the functional area
• Provide strategic, data-driven recommendations to management that influence critical business processes and decisions
• Review reports for data accuracy and independently resolve complex quality issues with business stakeholders
• Apply advanced knowledge of KPIs, team roles, business processes, and data/process interconnections
• Generate recommendations for moderately complex problems and review them with business stakeholders
• Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets
• Understand system relationships and data flow and apply data-management best practices
• Maintain data quality and governance in assigned systems
• Lead governance initiatives and performance optimization
• Coach junior analysts in data governance, report design and analysis, data presentation, and technical and organizational effectiveness
• Apply advanced knowledge of data governance, enterprise systems, multi-domain integrations, strategic data policy, and compliance frameworks
• Design cross-system, enterprise-level analytical models as needed

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience
• Advanced systems knowledge in assigned functional area
• Working knowledge of how systems work together and functionality of upstream and downstream systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Advanced presentation skills
• Experience presenting to Director and above audiences
• Ability to work on ambiguous assignments
• Experience with governance ownership, including defining and driving accountability against standards
• Conflict resolution skills
• Ability to design enterprise-level dashboards integrating complex datasets across business areas
• Experience with advanced data modelling
• Ability to design data pipelines and optimize transformations in cloud data warehouse solutions
• Advanced Python skills for scripting, automation and validation
• Advanced SQL skills
• Transportation and Logistics knowledge preferred
• In lieu of a degree, candidates with 12+ years of experience may be considered if they have extensive and varied experience demonstrating strategic business impact, advanced enterprise systems knowledge, data governance and multi-domain integrations, and expertise in designing and presenting executive-level, data-driven recommendations
