- Write, test and maintain high-quality, secure and reliable code
- Implement features aligned to engineering standards and architectural direction
- Contribute to automated testing and continuous improvement of the codebase
- Contribute to feature-level design discussions and solution proposals
- Apply system design principles under guidance from senior engineers, principal engineers and architects
- Participate in peer code reviews and apply coding standards, design patterns and best practices
- Deliver work items from design through development, testing and deployment
- Provide estimates and communicate progress or blockers
- Troubleshoot issues in development, integration and production environments
- Follow technical guidance and contribute ideas, risk identification and technical discussions

Requirements
- Hands-on experience in Python and a web-development framework such as Django
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Strong understanding of core software engineering principles
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and version control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies and domain knowledge
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Exposure to React, Node.js, Terraform, Celery or containerisation (desirable)
- Understanding of database schema design and query optimisation (desirable)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native services or distributed systems (desirable)
