Jobsworth Recruitment are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contracts Manager for our client based in Romford. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and exceptional organisational skills, ensuring that all contracts are executed efficiently and in compliance with company policies. This role requires effective communication and negotiation skills to foster positive relationships with stakeholders while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Location: Romford (RM3)

Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

Salary: £30,000 to £45,000 Dependant on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour.
  • Efficiently manage multiple contracts.
  • Prepare timesheets and approve sub-contract labour invoices.
  • Maintain health and safety standards on sites, ensuring that work is carried out in strict accordance with Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure Safe Starts/Finishes, Hot Works Permits, and Gas Torch Permits are carried out daily as required on all projects.
  • Organise and order plant, craneage, materials, labour, and sub-contractors to meet programme requirements.
  • Check quality, ensuring that work conforms to specifications and drawings.
  • Record variations and advise QS.
  • Monitor project costs against estimated/predicted budgets.
  • Monitor materials on site, organising procurement and call-offs with the office.
  • Co-ordinate deliveries with main contractor's on-site systems.
  • Attend meetings with main contractor as required.
  • Supervise sub-contract labour to ensure work meets our requirements.
  • Attend company safety meetings and training.
  • Give weekly Toolbox Talks to labour and sub-contractors.
  • Complete and monitor customer complaints.
  • Manage stock control.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in contract management or a related field.
  • Adaptability, business awareness, detail handling, initiative, planning and organising, flat roofing industry knowledge, plant/safety communication.
  • CSCS Black card holder.
  • NVQ to appropriate level.
  • SMSTS.
  • Experience in the building and construction industry is essential.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills to achieve favourable outcomes for the organisation.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced office environment.
