- We're looking for an experienced
Electrical Engineer to join our busy fabrication and manufacturing facility.
If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working with advanced automation and keeping production running efficiently, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a growing engineering team.
Working directly on the shop floor, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving a wide range of fabrication and automated production equipment.
From CNC machinery and presses to PLC-controlled systems and robotics, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our operation performs at its best.

What You'll Be Doing
As part of our engineering team, you will
- Maintain, service and repair electrical systems across a range of fabrication machinery including CNC equipment, presses, saws, rolling and blanking lines.
- Diagnose electrical and automation faults quickly to minimise production downtime.
- Program, modify and troubleshoot Siemens PLC systems.
- Configure, maintain and improve HMI interfaces to support efficient machine operation.
- Install, commission and upgrade new production and automation equipment.
- Fault-find on drives, motors, encoders, sensors, PLCs and control systems.
- Integrate robotic systems into automated production lines.
- Diagnose faults with robots, teach pendants, controllers, sensors and vision systems.
- Support preventative maintenance programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce and maintain accurate electrical drawings, PLC backups and technical documentation.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical legislation, machine safety standards and company health & safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has practical experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment and enjoys working directly with machinery.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within manufacturing, fabrication or heavy industry.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills on industrial machinery.
- Experience maintaining CNC machines, presses and fabrication equipment.
- Siemens PLC programming, diagnostics and modification.
- HMI programming and troubleshooting.
- Industrial robotics programming and fault diagnosis.
- Experience with motors, variable speed drives, servo systems and industrial automation.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
- You'll Also Have Experience With
- Three-phase electrical systems.
- Sensors, safety circuits and machine control systems.
- Industrial communication networks such as Ethernet/IP.
- Commissioning new machinery and production equipment.
- Integrating automation into manufacturing processes.
Desirable Experience
You'll stand out if you have experience with
- Aluminium fabrication or metal processing.
- Robotics commissioning and advanced programming.
- Pick-and-place robotic cells.
- Vision systems and smart automation.
- Machinery upgrades, retrofits and production line installations.
- Mechanical maintenance and fabrication processes.
- CNC programming or maintenance.
Qualifications
- HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
- Inspection and Testing qualification (desirable).
- Safety & Compliance
You'll have a good understanding of
- BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- UKCA and CE Machinery Safety Standards.

- Emergency stops
- Safety interlocks
- Light curtains
- Risk assessments for automated and robotic equipment.
