Working with clients across a variety of sectors including aerospace, automotive, technology, fashion, and pharmaceuticals, we deliver time-critical and high-value shipments across global supply chains. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced International Import/Export Operator with strong customs clearance expertise to join our successful operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import and export operations across road, sea, and air freight
- Prepare and process customs entries and associated documentation for UK, EU, and international shipments
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, Incoterms, customs legislation, and international trade requirements
- Coordinate groupage, full-load, express, and time-critical shipments
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, customs authorities, and overseas agents
- Monitor shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
- Handle high-value and sensitive cargo with accuracy and attention to detail
- Support internal departments including customer service, sales, and finance
- Resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining excellent service levels
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience within freight forwarding, customs clearance, or international logistics
- Proven experience processing customs entries and import/export documentation
- Strong understanding of Incoterms and international trade procedures
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Confident using Microsoft Office and freight forwarding systems
