- We’re recruiting for an experienced
Machine Tool Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established heavy engineering manufacturer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement within a busy machine shop environment.
The Role
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of machine tools and manufacturing equipment.
- Respond quickly to reactive breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Support machine upgrades, refurbishment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Candidate Requirements
NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong engineering and maintenance background within manufacturing.
- Experience carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical approach with the ability to identify long-term improvements.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
