Roofer’s Mate – Social Housing Maintenance
Location: Havant
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Roofer’s Mate to join a busy social housing maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with roofing or general construction experience who is looking to develop their skills and support experienced roofers carrying out repairs and maintenance to residential properties.
The Role
As a Roofer’s Mate, you will assist roofers with a variety of roofing repairs and maintenance across social housing properties, helping to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting roofers with repairs, maintenance and general roofing work.
- Carrying and preparing tools, materials and equipment.
- Supporting with roof repairs, including tiles, slates, guttering and other roofing components.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Working professionally in occupied residential properties and providing good customer service to residents.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence – essential.
- Previous experience as a Roofer’s Mate, Roofing Labourer or General Labourer is desirable.
- A good understanding of construction site health and safety.
- A practical, hands‑on approach with a willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
