Damp & Mould Technician – Response Repairs

Rate: £22.52 per hour CIS
Contract: Temporary – 6–8 weeks' work

Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Damp & Mould Operative to join a social housing maintenance team, carrying out damp and mould remedial works across North West London.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced operative looking for immediate, ongoing work for approximately 6–8 weeks, working across occupied residential properties.
The Role
As a Damp & Mould Operative, you will be responsible for identifying, treating and remediating damp and mould issues within social housing properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out inspections to identify causes of damp and mould, including condensation, penetrating damp and leaks.
- Undertaking damp and mould treatment works within occupied social housing properties.
- Cleaning and treating mould-affected areas.
- Applying mould washes, anti-mould treatments and stain-blocking paint systems.
- Carrying out damp-proofing and remedial works where required.
- Hacking off damaged plaster and preparing surfaces for remedial works.
- Carrying out making-good works, including patch plastering, painting and decorating.
- Installing ventilation solutions and carrying out minor remedial repairs.
- Working within occupied properties while minimising disruption to tenants.
- Providing clear advice to residents regarding damp, mould, condensation and prevention.
- Using PDA systems to update job information and record completed works.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.
- Completing all works in accordance with health & safety requirements and company standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in damp and mould treatment or property maintenance.
- Good understanding of the causes of damp, mould and condensation.
- Experience working within social housing or occupied residential properties.
- Ability to carry out associated multi-trade works, including plastering, painting and basic repairs.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
