Job Title: Goods-In Inspector

Job Type: Contract, 3 month (temp to perm)

Location: Reading

Rate: Β£15-Β£16.00 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00-18:30

We are looking for a diligent and quality-focused Goods In Inspector to join a busy manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, components and products to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards before being released into production or stock.

Goods-In Inspector role

  • Carry out inspection of incoming components, materials and manufactured parts.
  • Check goods against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders and quality requirements.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other measuring instruments.
  • Complete visual inspections for damage, defects, finish and general workmanship.
  • Verify accompanying documentation, including certificates of conformity and relevant inspection records.
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.

Required experience for this Goods-In Inspector role

  • Previous experience within a Goods In, Quality Inspection or Manufacturing Inspection role.
  • Good understanding of engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
