A secondary school in theMaidstone areais looking to appoint a confident and committedTeacher of Geographyto join their team on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

The successful teacher will be responsible for deliveringGeography across Key Stages 3 and 4, including teachingtwo Year 11 GCSE classes. The school follows theAQA Geography specification, so previous experience teaching AQA at GCSE level would be particularly beneficial.

This position will initially run until at leastJanuary 2027, with the possibility of extending beyond this date.

The Role

As the Geography Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Geography acrossKS3 and KS4
  • Take responsibility fortwo Year 11 GCSE Geography classes
  • Deliver lessons in line with theAQA GCSE Geography specification
  • Plan and deliver engaging and appropriately challenging lessons
  • Assess, mark and monitor pupil progress
  • Support Year 11 pupils with GCSE preparation and revision
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Geography Teacher who:

  • HoldsQTSor has relevant secondary teaching experience
  • Has experience teaching Geography atKS3 and KS4
  • Is confident taking responsibility forYear 11 GCSE classes
  • Has strong subject knowledge
  • Ideally has experience of theAQA Geography specification
  • Has effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is organised, reliable and committed to pupil progress
  • Is available to startimmediately
