Finance & Payroll Administrator

Exeter £27,000 per annum Permanent 37 hours per week

Build Recruitment are working with an established business based on the outskirts of
Exeter, who are looking for a Finance & Payroll Administrator to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in finance, accounts or payroll administration looking for a varied role with responsibility across both finance and payroll.

The Role

You’ll support the day-to-day finance and payroll function, including:

  • Processing employee timesheets and supporting payroll

  • Managing new starters, leavers, holiday and sickness records

  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies

  • Processing payroll information using Sage 200

  • Managing the Salary Sacrifice Scheme

  • Processing sales invoices and financial data

  • Completing bank, PAYE, National Insurance and pension reconciliations

  • Preparing and issuing customer statements

  • Supporting VAT returns and accounting adjustments

  • Running financial reports and supporting month-end procedures

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential financial records

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in finance, accounts or payroll administration

  • A good understanding of payroll and basic accounting principles

  • Experience with timesheets, payroll and employee changes

  • Experience with bank reconciliations

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Confidence investigating discrepancies and resolving issues

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with accounting software - Sage 200 desirable but not essential

Working Hours

Monday-Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am-4:30pm
1-hour unpaid lunch
37 hours per week
