Clean Room Dye Technician

£31,350.15 basic 1/3 shift allowance (£41,800.20 total)
Monday–Thursday 3:45pm–1:30am
We’re recruiting for a Liquid Penetration Operative to join a specialist aerospace manufacturing environment in Luton.
This is a safety-critical quality role, responsible for inspecting high-value components and identifying surface-breaking defects such as cracks, porosity and leaks using liquid penetrant inspection techniques.
Key responsibilities

Prepare and clean components for inspection

Apply fluorescent/visible penetrant and developer
-
Inspect components using UV lighting
-
Identify and evaluate defects against specifications
-
Record and report inspection results
-
Identify non-conforming components for repair or scrap
-
Carry out basic visual inspections and measurements

Maintain inspection equipment and consumables
-
Follow technical drawings, route cards and work instructions

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
We're looking for

Excellent attention to detail and visual perception

Ability to pass a mandatory eye test

Good hand-eye coordination and practical ability

Ability to safely handle chemicals and components

Basic IT skills for recording results

Strong focus on quality and accuracy

Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions
-
Manufacturing, welding or engineering experience is desirable but not essential
