The Company
A well-established electronics manufacturer based in Basingstoke is looking for an experienced SMT Operator to join their production team on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing environment, with the possibility of securing a permanent position for the right person.
The Role
As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring surface mount technology (SMT) machinery to ensure high-quality PCB assembly production. You will work closely with the production team to maintain output, quality, and efficiency targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating SMT pick-and-place machinery
- Loading components and materials onto production lines
- Setting up and carrying out machine changeovers
- Monitoring machine performance and identifying faults
- Conducting quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Reading and following work instructions and engineering documentation
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Supporting continuous improvement activities within production
About You
The successful SMT Operator will ideally have:
- Previous experience operating SMT machinery
- Experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of PCB assembly processes
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
