Jobstore are seeking a skilled Metal Worker to join one of our clients in Middleton working Monday - Friday 08.00am - 16.00pm.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various metalworking techniques. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to create high-quality products. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and committed to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate metal parts and components according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Assemble metal structures and products using hand tools and machinery.
  • Grind and finish metal surfaces to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operate tooling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
  • Work with sheet metal to create custom designs as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in basic maths for measurements and calculations related to metalworking tasks.
  • Experience in fabricating, grinding, assembling, and welding metal components.
  • Familiarity with tooling equipment and hand tools commonly used in metalworking.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Previous experience working with sheet metal is advantageous but not essential.
