We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our clients fleet maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal safety and operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as hands-on experience with various tools and equipment.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of HGVs to identify faults and areas requiring repair or maintenance.
- Perform repairs on vehicle components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty parts using assembly techniques and equipment repair skills.
- Maintain detailed records of work carried out in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with the installation of specialised equipment such as excavators or forklifts when required.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
