Jobstore are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Machinist/Joiner to join our clients team on a temp to perm basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing high-quality wooden components for a variety of furnishing projects. This role requires proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques, along with a solid understanding of carpentry and construction practices. The ideal applicant will have experience working with different materials and be capable of heavy lifting and precise craftsmanship to meet project specifications. - Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, and sanders to produce precise components according to specifications.
- Fabricate custom wood pieces for furniture, fixtures, or structural elements.
- Assemble wooden parts using hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques to ensure durability and quality.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood materials accurately for various projects.
- Perform finishing tasks including sanding, staining, and sealing to achieve desired surface quality.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings and project requirements.
- Assist in the installation of finished products on-site when required.
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry within a construction or woodworking environment. Knowledge of joinery techniques such as dovetailing, mortise-and-tenon, and biscuit joining. Experience working with roofing materials or masonry is advantageous but not essential. Familiarity with construction painting, plumbing, electrical work, or masonry is considered a plus but not mandatory.
