Jobstore are seeking a dedicated FM Porter for one of our clients in Ely. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and smooth operation of our premises and hold a valid DBS certificate. You will be working 17.00pm - 20.00pm, 5 days a week on a rota, on a 3 month basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a professional environment. The FM Porter will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our facilities, supporting both staff and visitors.

Duties:

  • Assist with general porterage tasks including moving furniture, equipment, and supplies around the premises.
  • Transfer patients in a safe and appropriate manner to and from the wards, theatres and departments via means of walking, wheelchair, stretcher and beds.
  • Maintain cleanliness of communal areas, corridors, and service zones in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Support maintenance staff with basic tasks such as waste disposal and stock replenishment.
  • Accept linen deliveries, check and store correctly in designated areas.
  • Stamp linen as requested by the Domestic Services Manager.
  • Prepare linen trolleys for delivery to all areas as per agreed stock levels.
  • Change curtains on wards and departments as requested by the Domestic Support Manager or Supervisors.
  • Assist in the periodic programme for changing curtains.
  • Monitor and report any repair or safety issues within the building to the relevant department.
  • Ensure all public areas are tidy, welcoming, and free from hazards.
  • Assist visitors and staff with directions or requests as needed.
  • Support event set-up and breakdown when required.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies at all times to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in facilities support or porterage roles is advantageous but not essential.
  • Good organisational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional manner.
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift moderate loads and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures within a workplace environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
