As a Structural Packaging Designer, you will act as a creative strategist leading the design of sustainable packaging from concept to completion. You will gather project data from commercial teams, project managers and directly from customers, create designs in the Computer Assisted Design (CAD) program, solicit and incorporate customer feedback, and create prototypes for customer and manufacturing approval. The Structural Packaging Designer needs to be organized, communicate well with both internal and external partners, and be able to work autonomously with respect to deadlines. This person has at least 3 years of relevant experience but typically has 4-8 years in the packaging industry.
Core Capabilities
- Proficiency in Artios CAD and professional proficiency of Microsoft Office products β Power Point, Word, Excel required.
- Advanced proficiency in operation of equipment including CAD Tables and 3D printers.
- Advanced understanding of carton manufacturing processes and limitations and can effectively execute CAD layouts for estimating and production teams.
- Familiarity with beverage package filling lines, supply chains, automation and/or fit-for-use testing is a plus.
- Creative design generation: active participation in design ideation to support customer or platform innovation projects.
- Robust execution: maintains highest levels of customer satisfaction in managing design related responsibilities for key accounts and projects through timely and independent execution of deliverables including prototypes, white samples and graphic mock-ups.
- Effective and clear communication, including clear expectation-setting with Commercial team and customers, customer-facing articulation of design intent, feedback and coaching of fellow designers, and collaborative optimization with Operations.

- Degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, Design Engineering or specialized Engineering Degree based in mechanical engineering disciplines from an accredited institution is preferred and/or minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10-20% for internal meetings and externally to customer sites.
