They are an entrepreneurial business/management team, who, due to on-going expansion both within core business and a broader market place, are committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development throughout the business, and now wish to appoint a Senior Quality Engineer.
Due to the nature of their work being supplied to OEMs, they are compliant with all their required quality standards, meaning it is a "best practice" environment, yet it is a smaller, more entrepreneurial company, making this a unique place to gain a very broad set of skills, commercial, customer facing, technical etc. They pride themselves on mentoring and developing their people and it is a culture in which, whilst supported, you will be expected to take ownership, making decisions and stand on your own feet.
In this role of Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and strengthening the quality expertise throughout the NPI APQP process, developing and continuously improving the quality and environmental management systems. With your desire to achieve targets and exceed standards, you will advise the manufacturing team on the best quality standards to follow for their core products, including preparation of PPAP documentation for new and existing product ranges. To ensure that the quality function is driven through all departments within the business, you will use your excellent communication skills to support not only the manufacturing team, but the commercial and product engineering teams on their NPI products.
- Evaluate and strengthen quality expertise throughout the NPI/APQP process and drive continuous improvement of the quality and environmental management systems.
- Advise manufacturing on appropriate quality standards for core products; prepare PPAP documentation for new and existing product ranges.
- Support cross-functional teams (manufacturing, commercial, product engineering) to ensure quality is integrated into NPI projects.
Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive (or quality-led environments such as Aerospace, Medical, etc.) in a manufacturing or quality capacity.
