We are currently looking for a Research Scientist to join a leading organisation in the biotech and chemical sciences sector based at our client's purpose-built laboratories. This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist with a passion for microbiology and biotechnology to contribute to innovative research and development projects that aim to improve lives through sustainable raw materials.
As part of the Biotechnology R&T Group, you will support the development and scale-up of cutting-edge biotechnological processes, working closely with internal teams and external partners to drive technological advancements and industrial applications.
Responsibilities:- Support the development and scale-up of microbial fermentation processes to industrial scale, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate with production teams and external partners to facilitate technology transfer for large-scale manufacturing.
- Work with commercial, IP, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure processes align with business objectives and compliance standards.
- Contribute to innovative research projects leveraging your microbiology, molecular biology, and genetic manipulation expertise.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic growth initiatives.
- A Degree or higher level in Microbiology, Biochemistry or other Life Science related discipline.
- Proven experience in developing scalable microbial cell culture processes in laboratory, pilot plant, and/or production environments.
- Experience in strain engineering of fungi, including culture and genetic manipulation.
- Extensive molecular biology skills, including cloning, DNA & RNA manipulation, and organism transformation.
