We're seeking a talented and motivated HV/MV Engineer to join our innovative team in North Wales. What you'll do:
- Working under the direction of the HV/MV Senior Electrical Engineer, this role has responsibility for the management and functionality of the High Voltage/Medium Voltage network and equipment where the focus is on safety, reliability and preventive maintenance.
- Responsible for all High Voltage Electrical systems and respective maintenance activities across the Shotton Mill site. This includes the paper machines, winders, stock preparation plants, effluent treatment areas and all site services including steam and electrical power generation from respective CHP plants.
- Breakdown response, fault finding and repair.
- Management and coordination of HV/MV contractors.
- Support planned shutdowns with electrical isolations across all systems.
- Initiate and take corrective action necessary to ensure continuity of production, collaborating with the Shotton Mill Production teams across all areas of site.
- Day-to-day maintenance requirements for all HV/MV engineering equipment on site.
- Overhaul and refurbishment of relevant equipment when required, ensuring high engineering standards of repair.
- Collaboration with engineering scheduler and planning teams to prepare maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate, advise and undertake any necessary improvements, modifications and upgrades of the electrical systems, to optimise efficiency, reliability and safety.
- Utilise the Maintenance Management System to report notifications, record equipment histories, and collaborate with the Engineering Stores team to ensure engineering standards of spare parts.
- Work closely on the design, implementation, testing and commissioning of the site-wide HV/MV electrical distribution systems in preparation for the new plant start-up.
What you'll bring:
- Formal qualification in High Voltage System Operations and Safety Procedures or equivalent.
- Formal qualification in Safety Management or equivalent.
- Ability to act as Control Engineer and Senior Authorised Person on a private electrical power distribution network.
- Ability to prepare, approve and execute HV network switching schedules.
- Ability to prepare HV points of isolation and earthing and issue corresponding safety documents.
- Familiar with HV network assets, condition monitoring and maintenance.
- Knowledge of HV network protection systems.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Highly motivated, agile and results-driven with the ability to problem-solve.
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of efficiently prioritising work and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Attention to detail and the ability to use own initiative.
