The Role
We are looking for an experienced UI Designer to join our fast‑growing team at Medly. We’ve recently launched the US version of our AI‑powered tutoring app, and this role is all about shaping the design of that product to help us reach true product‑market fit stateside. You will take full ownership of the design experience for our US users—creating beautiful, intuitive interfaces, running experiments, and deeply understanding student needs. This is a high‑impact opportunity to define the look, feel, and usability of a product that will transform how students learn.
Role Responsibilities
- Optimize the UI/UX of our US‑facing product to drive adoption and engagement.
- Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests to refine features and improve key metrics.
- Lead focus groups and feedback sessions with students to ensure designs meet real needs.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to implement, test, and iterate on new features.
- Consider every detail of the user experience, from copy and micro‑interactions to visuals and overall flow.
Role Requirements
- Grew up in the US with a strong knowledge of the pre‑university education system.
- 2–3 years of industry experience in UI/UX design.
- Proficiency in Figma and a track record of delivering polished design systems.
- Extreme eye for detail, with a user‑first mindset and passion for creating intuitive products.
- Excited by mission‑driven tech and motivated by building products that create real impact.
- Experience ideating, prototyping, and experimenting with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor).
- An online portfolio showcasing mobile app and/or web design work products.
Ideal Candidate
- Obsessive attention to detail and commitment to shipping polished, bug‑free experiences.
- Ability to work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers.
- Able to commute 4 days a week to our office in Kings Cross, with Wednesday being work from home.
- Passion for education and learning; EdTech experience not required.
- Thrives in fast‑paced environments with rapid iteration and high impact.
- Excited by the opportunity to build cutting‑edge educational technology.
