An established engineering solutions provider is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities across a diverse customer base. This role is ideal for a multi-skilled engineer who enjoys a varied position involving travel, technical problem‑solving, customer interaction, and hands‑on engineering work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of electro‑mechanical equipment.
- Provide reactive and planned maintenance support across a range of customer sites around the UK and occasionally abroad.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Undertake strip‑down, rebuild, and testing of equipment within the workshop.
- Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and job records.
- Travel across the UK and occasionally abroad as required.
Experience & Skills Required
- Completed apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Interest in working on electrical/electronic systems.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with ideally some experience in strip‑down and rebuild.
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- An ambition to learn and develop; lots of training will be provided.
- Understanding of engineering principles and a root cause analysis mindset.
- Flexible approach to working hours, travel, and varying job demands.
- Good communication skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Competent IT skills for reporting, documentation, and communication.
- Valid UK driving licence and passport.
- NVQ Level 3 in electronics or mechanical.
