We’re looking for an experienced Technical SEO Lead to join our remote team to bring technical SEO expertise to our organic search campaigns for some of the UK’s best-known brands including Kingfisher (owners of B&Q and Screwfix), Musto and Helly Hansen.
Position details
- Location: Virtual, remote role – meet 4 x per year, mostly in London, UK. Candidates must be based in the UK.
- Reports To: Head of SEO/Search and Client Services Director
- Work alongside: Copywriting and PR team
- Salary: ÂŁ40,000-ÂŁ50,000, depending on experience
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical SEO Lead to take ownership of the technical health and performance of our clients’ websites. You will be the person who uncovers issues others miss, questions assumptions, ensures everything is being tracked correctly, and translates complex technical problems into clear, commercial actions. You will play a central role in shaping how Monday Clicks delivers technical SEO at scale across the agency. This role is perfect for someone who wants to be a true authority in technical SEO, while influencing strategy across content, PR and digital performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical SEO Leadership
- Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits across client websites to identify issues affecting performance, indexing, crawling and overall search health.
- Provide clear, prioritised, actionable recommendations and support clients and their developers through implementation.
- Own technical SEO troubleshooting across a wide range of CMS platforms and site architectures.
- Ensure client sites meet technical best practices including site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, internal linking, sitemap health and robots directives.
- Lead on complex projects such as site migrations, platform changes and international SEO setups.
- Data, Tracking & Insight
- Oversee SEO-related tracking and measurement across GA4, GSC and GTM.
- Question existing setups to ensure we are collecting the right data to make informed decisions.
- Continuously validate data accuracy and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.
- Analyse performance to determine whether we are attracting the right audience and recommend strategies to improve traffic quality and conversion.
- Build Looker Studio and Power BI Dashboards for clients.
- Support the Head of SEO with deep-dive analysis and turn complex data into clear stories for clients.
- Strategic SEO Delivery
- Own the technical roadmap for each client and ensure it aligns with wider SEO and content strategy.
- Work closely with Content and PR teams to ensure technical foundations support campaign performance.
- Spot opportunities where technical improvements can unlock growth across organic search.
- Provide proactive insights and recommendations that drive measurable impact.
- Leadership & Growth
- Act as the technical authority within the agency, setting standards, processes and best practice.
- Mentor and support SEO team members to raise technical capability across the business.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to evolve Monday Clicks’ technical SEO offering.
- Play a key role in shaping how we deliver scalable, high-impact SEO for enterprise brands.
Overall Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in technical SEO and/or paid search management.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Confidence working with developers and explaining technical issues clearly.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Looker Studio, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Ability to question data, challenge assumptions, and proactively identify insights others may miss.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills - able to turn complex data into clear, client-friendly narratives.
- A proactive problem-solver who enjoys finding solutions to challenges in both organic and paid search environments.
Tools Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of Ahrefs, SEMrush, and other SEO intelligence platforms.
- Strong experience using Screaming Frog and/or Sitebulb for technical crawling and audits.
- Confident working with Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools for diagnosing indexing, performance, and coverage issues.
- Ability to analyse site performance using PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and Core Web Vitals testing tools.
- Familiarity with schema markup tools and validators for structured data implementation.
- Experience with log file analysis tools to understand crawl patterns.
Analytics, Tracking & Reporting
- Proficient in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (GSC) including event-based tracking and conversion analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Tag Manager (GTM) for tag setup, QA, and debugging.
- Ability to build and interpret dashboards within Looker Studio and Power BI.
- Familiarity with behavioural analytics tools such as Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity.
- Experience with BigQuery or SQL-based analysis is a bonus.
Working Set-Up and Hours
- 4 days a week (30 hours) or full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Flexi-time between 8am–8pm, focused on great client service and teamwork
- Remote first – with 4 x team meet-ups per year in the South (e.g. London, Brighton)
- Occasional travel for training, conferences, or client meetings
- Strong WiFi and “camera-on” etiquette for virtual meetings (support can be provided)
