Butyl Products Ltd. is seeking a driven and experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our team at our Essex headquarters. This pivotal role focuses on expanding our presence within the UK, specifically in the drinking water and wastewater sectors, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a thriving business with a reputation for excellence.

Our company is structured into specialist divisions to serve sector-specific needs:

  • Butek Tanks – Design, manufacture and installation of corrugated steel water tanks and modular wastewater treatment systems.
  • Butek Landline – Design, manufacture and installation of geomembranes for reservoirs, reed beds, lagoons, ponds and slurry containment—tailored to each project’s technical requirements.

Manufactured in the UK and installed globally, our products are engineered for efficiency, durability, and compliance.

Role Overview

As Technical Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients and promoting our brand as a trusted industry leader. You’ll work closely with our technical and design teams to deliver bespoke solutions while supporting and developing our internal technical sales capability. This role is based at our Essex HQ, with some UK travel depending on the requirements of the project. You’ll be backed by a dedicated team of administrative and technical professionals.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in managing complex projects from initial enquiry through to delivery and handover. Experience in the UK water and wastewater sector is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support projects from concept to completion
  • Collaborate with field sales teams to drive cross-selling and solution-based selling
  • Generate quotations, manage enquiries, close orders, and maintain CRM records
  • Work with technical and design teams to develop tailored client solutions
  • Provide responsive troubleshooting and technical support
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with water companies and contractors
  • Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities
  • Expand your technical knowledge across departments

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in engineering or relevant experience (preferred)
  • Proven success in technical sales, ideally in water/wastewater sectors
  • Strong ability to develop bespoke technical solutions for client needs
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time management
  • Self‑motivated and collaborative team player
  • Analytical mindset with technical project understanding
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word)
  • Full UK driving licence required
