Talent Acquisition Partner – Deep Tech Start-Up

Location: London (2-3 days per week in office)

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Stock Options

Hawkwood is partnering with an early-stage Deep Tech start-up addressing a major challenge in AI today.

The company, founded by a serial entrepreneur and creator of a technology powering a major global tech company, is building a top-tier team to scale operations. They seek a Talent Acquisition Partner to help grow the team and develop skills in People Operations. This role involves working closely with hiring managers across technical and non-technical teams, supporting talent initiatives, and enhancing candidate and employee experiences. It is a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values ownership and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition – Tech Focus

  • Source and engage top tech talent in Engineering, Product, and Applied Science using targeted sourcing strategies.
  • Coordinate interview schedules, candidate communications, and feedback collection.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and provide recommendations.
  • Create outreach campaigns and build talent pipelines via LinkedIn and other platforms.
  • Support employer branding and EVP projects.
  • Assist with ATS migration and related projects.

People Operations

  • Prepare employment contracts for new hires.
  • Conduct right-to-work checks and support pre-employment compliance.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes, including first-day communications, system access, and culture initiatives.
  • Maintain data integrity across HR systems and documentation.

About You:

  • Hands-on sourcing experience in Engineering, Machine Learning, and Product roles.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Talent/People Operations, preferably within tech startups, scale-ups, or tech-focused agencies.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passionate about creating strong candidate and employee experiences.
  • Proficient with Slack, GSuite, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub.
  • Team-oriented and willing to support colleagues.
